Fraternities & Sororities

  • Inter-Greek Council: the legislative, standard-setting, and coordinating body for all fraternities and sororities that belong to Panhellenic Association, Multicultural Greek Council, Pan-Hellenic Council, and Interfraternity Council. The purpose of IGC is to maintain a high plane of fraternal life and interfraternal relations, to further intellectual and social accomplishments, to cooperate with the university, community, and administration in the maintenance of high social standards, to improve and maintain relations between the fraternal organizations and the surrounding community.
  • InterFraternity Council: a sub-council of the Inter-Greek Council and a member of the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). The purpose of IFC is to maintain a high level of fraternity and interfraternity relations to further social and intellectual accomplishments, to cooperate with the University, administration, and community in the maintenance of high social standards, and to improve and maintain relations between the fraternal organizations, and the community we reside.
  • Multicultural Greek Council: a sub-council of the Inter-Greek Council. The purpose of MGC is to serve as a governing body, to create and maintain high standards in the life of culturally-based Fraternities and Sororities by addressing, coordinating and developing strategic programming, to unify organizations involved in MGC, promote higher education, provide community services, enhance leadership and to serve as a liaison between the MGC, other Greek Councils, the university student body and administration, thereby improving campus life.
  • National Pan-Hellenic Council a sub-council of the Inter-Greek Council and a member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. Representatives of historically established community service fraternities and sororities similar in structure and background with both graduate and undergraduate chapters, recognizing the need for coordination and cooperation in activities of intercollegiate Greek letter fraternities and sororities, recognizing that there are certain areas of action and programming that can best be carried out by the joint efforts of all such organizations.
  • Panhellenic Association: a sub-council of the Inter-Greek Council and a member of the National Panhellenic Conference. The purpose of PA is to develop and maintain fraternity life and interfraternity relations at a high level of accomplishment and in doing so consider the goals and ideals of member groups as continually applicable to campus and personal life, promote superior scholarship as basic to intellectual achievement, cooperate with member fraternities and the university/college administration in concern for and maintenance of high social and moral standards, and act in accordance with National Panhellenic Conference unanimous agreements and policies.
