Phi Kappa Tau was founded on March 17, 1906 as the Non-Fraternity Association at Miami University in Oxford, OH. The group operated under the name Phrenocon in 1909 before formally adopting the name Phi Kappa Tau in 1916.Our organization at SIU was founded as Chi Delta Chi in 1932, the first social fraternity to exist for any length of time. The organization petitioned Phi Kappa Tau for charter in 1953 and was chartered as the Beta Chi Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau on November 24, 1953. The chapter was very active in the Greek system at SIU for over 25 years before becoming inactive in 1979. Beta Chi was re-colonized by national fraternity in Spring 2005 and is anticipating their charter in spring 2007.     Phi Kappa Tau during Greek WeekPhi Kappa Tau during Relay for LifePhi Kappa Tau Christmas celebration
