Philanthropy: Southern Illinois AIDS Walk, Southern Illinois Clean-Up efforts, community dinners for the under-privileged, Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale, Carbondale’s Women Center, Relay for Life, and helping fill the local pantries.
Alpha Chapter History: Delta Psi Alpha was founded at Northern Illinois University in November 24, 1998 by university students. These young men and women discovered Greek life through organizations on-campus, and research. They were also compelled by the importance of Greek Life in enhancing the university life experience. Yet no social Greek organizations on-campus catered to a Pan-American Multi-cultural community that embraced culture, individualism, as well as leadership and teamwork for their professional development. In the Fall of 1998, these individuals commenced their journey in founding Delta Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter at Northern Illinois University.
Mighty Beta Chapter History: In the Fall of 1999, one of the founding members of Alpha transferred and attended Southern Illinois University where he was approached by university interests in expanding into the university. On November 18, 1999, the Beta Chapter was founded and the journey continued.
Mission: Delta Psi Alpha’s mission is to foster and advocate the professional development of students by enhancing the university experience through Greek life.
